Phalebas Clinic

Parbat, Gandaki

We installed a hybrid solar system at the Phalebas Clinic, in a region where the local grid was so unreliable that voltage was regularly dropping to around 180 V — well below what’s needed to run standard medical equipment safely.

The system uses SMA AC-coupled PV with a 48 V battery bank to provide a stable AC supply that doesn’t depend on the grid. We re-wired the clinic to separate essential protected loads from grid-fed circuits, and built a custom switchboard with bypass, surge protection, and low-impedance earthing to shield the medical equipment from the spikes and surges of the local network.
