Peak Power Solar now supplies the MultiPlus 48/20000/250-100, Victron Energy’s largest single-frame MultiPlus inverter/charger, as an authorized Victron distributor in Nepal.
Where most of the MultiPlus range tops out at a few kW per unit, the 48/20000/250-100 delivers 20,000 VA (20 kW) of continuous output at 25°C from a single 48V unit — 18 kW at 40°C, 14 kW at 65°C — with a 25 kW peak rating for one minute and a 21 kW cold-start rating sustained for five hours. On the charging side, it manages up to 250A of battery charge current at 25°C (240A at 40°C) across a proper 4-stage charge cycle.
Bigger systems from smaller stacks, not bigger single units
The practical benefit of this size class is architectural, not just a bigger spec sheet. Three units combine directly into a three-phase system, and units can be paralleled further per phase for higher capacity still — which means a large-capacity system can be built by stacking a manageable number of 20 kW units rather than requiring one much larger, more specialized piece of gear. For system design, that keeps spare-parts logistics simpler, keeps individual component weight and size manageable on remote sites, and means a system can be scaled by adding another unit rather than replacing what’s already installed.
It carries the same PowerControl and PowerAssist functionality as the rest of the Multi range — capping grid or generator draw and drawing on the battery to cover peak demand — and switches to inverter mode in under 20 milliseconds on a grid failure, so connected loads ride through the interruption without dropping out. The aluminium IP20 enclosure is fan-assisted and rated for -40°C to +65°C operation, which matters for the plant room conditions common on larger sites across Nepal.
Monitoring and configuration run through the same Victron ecosystem installers already use — VEConfigure for setup, and a Cerbo GX or Ekrano GX for local control and remote visibility through the VRM Portal — so adding this unit to a system doesn’t mean learning a new monitoring platform.
