Peak Power Solar now supplies the Pylontech US5000 rack-mount lithium battery in Nepal.
The US5000 is a 48V, 4.8kWh lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery module built for rack-mount installation, with a built-in BMS that handles cell balancing, protection, and communication with the inverter over RS485 or CAN. It’s rated for well over 6,000 cycles at 90% depth of discharge, and modules connect in parallel — up to 16 units, for around 76.8 kWh in a single bank — so a system can start with one or two modules and scale up later without changing the underlying design.
It’s one of the most widely deployed rack-mount batteries in solar and storage installations globally, largely because of how well it’s supported across inverter brands. In our own work, we pair the US5000 most often with Victron Energy and SMA inverters, both of which have long-established, tested compatibility profiles with Pylontech’s communication protocol — which keeps charge and discharge parameters properly matched between battery and inverter, rather than relying on generic lithium settings.
