One founder, Nepalese, had studied in Germany and made the decision to return home — not to a job somewhere else, but to help build Nepal's own renewable energy and electrification sector from the ground up. At the time, that sector barely existed in any organised form.
The other founder, Australian, arrived at the same problem from a different direction. He was looking for companies that could handle integration work and import components for large-scale solar systems in Nepal — and kept running into the same wall. The market was immature: proper large-system components weren't easily available, and the companies that could get them were charging steep margins for the privilege. It was in the course of that search that the two met, and quickly realised they were trying to solve the same problem from opposite ends.
Together, they founded Peak Power to do something about it — to expand real access to quality large-system components in Nepal, and just as importantly, to take genuine control over how those systems were designed and installed. That meant holding every project to proper engineering standards, and building for reliability and long service life rather than the cheapest install that would pass inspection.
That founding logic still shapes how Peak Power operates today. Every system — from a single-panel residential install to a village-scale microgrid — is designed and installed to Australian electrical code standards, a stricter bar than is typically applied in the Nepali market. It's why Peak Power installed the first SMA Multicluster system in Nepal, one of the first Victron systems in the country, and has since built a track record spanning healthcare, education, microgrids, and large institutional systems in all 7 provinces of Nepal.
